Department for Transport Can’t Confirm HS2AA’s 12 Tests Will Be Met

The Department for Transport have come back to September letter (which you can read here) which set out 12 tests for the next business case to be credible. They can’t bring themselves to pass comment on a single one of the tests we set out, or make any kind of commitment that the next business case will reflect the assumptions which we pointed out were only standard for these type of assessments.

You can read a copy of their response here. If you thought that the Department for Transport was committed to ensuring value for money before spending £50 billion plus on HS2-it would seem time to think again.
